During the early days of Holden Village, Ernst Schwidder used Malachi 4:2 for his inspiration, βThe sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in his wings.β His concept was that a new branch springs forth from a dead one in the power of the Messiah and his coming. Many look at it to see the symbol of grace that permits the sun to shine on the evil and the good alike. It is a sunburst of Life, from whose power to make whole none are shut out.
